Role - Director of AI Reputation & Narrative Intelligence

The Role

CiteWorks Studio is seeking a Director of AI Reputation & Narrative Intelligence to lead pioneering research into how Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative search systems describe brands, evaluate trusted sources, and shape narrative framing.

In this leadership role, you will study the intersection of LLMs, knowledge graphs, AI citation intelligence, and generative search to understand how platforms like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and Microsoft Copilot influence brand perception.

What Is AI Reputation & Narrative Intelligence

AI Reputation & Narrative Intelligence is the study of how generative systems interpret trust and shape market perception. For modern LLMs, this includes understanding:

  • Brand Description: How organizations are characterized within AI-generated answers.
  • Source Influence: Which trusted sources dictate reputation and category framing.
  • Synthesized Sentiment: How models summarize strengths, weaknesses, and risks.
  • Entity Association: How knowledge graphs shape brand context and relationships.
  • Citation Patterns: How specific references reinforce or weaken a brand's narrative.
  • Buyer Trust: How generative search influences consideration before a user ever clicks a link.

What You Will Do

As Director, you will lead the research and analysis that explains why certain brands are cited and recommended positively while others are framed inaccurately or ignored.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Narrative Research: Analyze brand formation across major LLMs and open-source models.
  • Analyze Trusted Sources: Identify the publishers, domains, and community discussions that function as the authority for AI systems.
  • Build Measurement Frameworks: Develop systems to quantify narrative consistency, sentiment direction, and competitive positioning within generative search.
  • Study Knowledge Graphs: Explore how structured data influences entity interpretation and brand associations.
  • Identify Reinforcement Loops: Track how positive or negative narratives become locked in through repeated AI generation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with data science and ML teams to build scalable tracking for AI Share of Voice and citation patterns.
  • Thought Leadership: Publish original research on AI citation intelligence and the evolving landscape of generative reputation.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 8+ years of experience in market intelligence, brand strategy, reputation analysis, AI research, or data science.
  • Expert understanding of LLMs, trusted sources, and generative search ecosystems.
  • Proven ability to build frameworks for reputation measurement and narrative analysis.
  • Experience leading analytical teams in complex information environments.

Preferred:

  • Familiarity with AI Share of Voice and competitive AI visibility metrics.
  • Background in Knowledge Graph analysis or entity relationship modeling.
  • Direct experience comparing model behaviors across multiple platforms (e.g., OpenAI vs. Anthropic vs. Google).
