Role Overview
We're growing fast, and at an inflection point where the revenue engine needs to match the product. This is a window to own a commercial function at a company in full-sprint mode - with the seniority, visibility, and scope to build something that matters.
We're looking for someone to own and grow our advertising revenue business: building brand persona, cracking agency partnerships, and converting inventory into a high-performance revenue stream. This role is for someone who's played in the advertising ecosystem long enough to know how the advertisement money moves.
What You'll Own
- Own quarterly and annual advertising revenue targets for India business, and build the strategy and execution plan to consistently hit them
- Develop strong partnerships with media agencies, buying desks, and direct brand teams to identify and drive new revenue opportunities across direct deals, programmatic, and branded content integrations
- Drive forecasting accuracy and pipeline discipline; report performance with clarity and speed
- Position Pocket FM as a must-buy in audio - developing a market-facing narrative that converts awareness into spend
- Lead high-stakes pitches, RFP responses, and deal negotiations; close deals that set the benchmark for what advertising on Pocket FM looks like
- Own inventory strategy - balancing yield optimisation, fill rates, and pricing to maximise revenue per available slot
- Partner with product and engineering to evolve ad formats, targeting capabilities, and measurement frameworks that keep us competitive
What You'll Bring
- 8 - 12 years of experience in digital advertising sales, with a track record of consistently hitting revenue targets in a competitive market
- Deep agency relationships and fluency in how media buying decisions get made - from planning to activation to reporting
- A bias for building: you're energised by greenfield opportunity, not slowed down by the absence of a playbook
- Strong commercial instincts: you can price a deal, structure a partnership, and know when to walk away
- Comfort operating in a high-velocity environment where priorities shift and speed of execution matters
