We are a high-growth, fast-moving company, and we're looking for an SEO leader to own our organic presence and help us support millions of pet parents.

The Role: Why We're Hiring

We are looking for a data-driven, innovative SEO to lead our organic growth strategy. This isn't just about ranking for keywords; it's about owning the entire organic journey for pet parents.

You will be responsible for two core pillars:

Dominating E-commerce SEO: Driving qualified traffic and revenue for our thousands of product SKUs (from dog food to cat toys) and services (like vet consults).

Leading the Next Wave of Search (AEO/GEO): Establishing Supertails as the definitive, most trusted answer for pet care questions on platforms like Google (including AI Overviews), ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity.

You are the right fit if you are obsessed with user intent, technically proficient, and excited to build the future of search strategy for a market-leading e-commerce brand.

Key Responsibilities

1. E-commerce & Technical SEO Strategy

Develop and execute a comprehensive SEO roadmap that aligns with business goals (traffic, revenue, and new customer acquisition).

Conduct regular, in-depth technical SEO audits of our large-scale e-commerce platform (crawlability, indexation, site speed, schema, internal linking, etc.) and manage the implementation of fixes with the product/engineering teams.

Lead keyword research to identify high-intent transactional keywords for our product and category pages.

Optimize all on-page elements for product listing pages (PLPs) and product detail pages (PDPs) to maximize ranking and conversion.

Develop a scalable strategy for managing and optimizing our vast product catalog, including handling faceted navigation and filtering.

2. Content & Answer Engine Optimization (AEO/GEO)

Pioneer our strategy for AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) and GEO (Generative Engine Optimization).

Identify the key questions our new pet parent audience asks (what to feed a puppy, how to choose a vet, etc.) and create a content strategy that ensures Supertails provides the #1 answer.

Collaborate with the content team to structure blog posts, guides, and FAQs for easy extraction by AI models (e.g., in Google's AI Overviews, Perplexity snippets, and voice search).

Implement and manage advanced schema markup (e.g., Product, FAQ, How-to, Article, Organization) to build a strong entity for Supertails in the Knowledge Graph.

Optimize for LLM (Large Language Model) parsability, ensuring our content is clear, factual, and demonstrates high E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, Trust).

3. Analytics, Reporting & Leadership

Own our SEO analytics stack (GA4, Google Search Console, Ahrefs/Semrush, Screaming Frog).

Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), including organic traffic, keyword rankings, conversion rates from organic, andcriticallyour visibility in AI-generated answers.

Analyze competitor strategies to find gaps and opportunities in both traditional and generative search.

Stay relentlessly on top of search engine algorithm updates, AI trends, and the future of search, acting as the team's resident expert.

What We're Looking For

Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on SEO experience, with a proven track record in e-commerce.

Technical SEO: Deep understanding of technical SEO for large-scale websites (Shopify, Magento, or custom-built). You must be able to talk tech with developers.

E-commerce Expert: You know the difference between optimizing a blog post and optimizing a 10,000-SKU product catalog. Experience with faceted navigation and conversion rate optimization (CRO) is a huge plus. Be able to manage and optimize feed on Google Merchant Center.

The AEO/GEO Pioneer: You are not just aware of AEO/GEO/Gen AI search; you are actively experimenting and building strategies for it. You can clearly articulate a plan to make Supertails win in this new landscape.

Data-Driven: You are an analytics-first thinker. You build your strategies on data, test your hypotheses, and measure your impact.

User-Obsessed: You are passionate about understanding user intent and creating the best possible experience for our audience (new pet parents).

Excellent Communicator: You can clearly explain complex SEO concepts and the why behind your strategy to stakeholders across marketing, product, and leadership.

Bonus Points

Experience in the pet care or a similar high-passion CPG industry.

Experience with SEO for platforms that include both content and services (like telehealth).

Experience with App Store Optimization (ASO) for the Supertails app.
