Are you a master of toolroom precision Mechtex is looking for a Senior Die Tool Engineer to take ownership of our plastic injection mold inventory. You will be the guardian of our production efficiency, responsible for the full lifecycle of die maintenance, from proactive preventive schedules to rapid-response breakdown repairs. We need a hands-on expert who values documentation as much as technical execution to ensure our production lines never skip a beat.
Responsible for preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of plastic injection molds (dies) to ensure consistent production quality, minimize downtime, and maintain complete die maintenance documentation.
Experience: 12- 15 years
Qualification: ITI/B.E./Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Plastic Engineering with Diploma in Die & Tool making and experience in plastic mold maintenance are must.

Job Description
Die / Mold Maintenance:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plastic injection molds.
- Dismantle, clean, inspect, repair, and assemble molds.
- Identify wear, damage, or defects in mold components (cores, cavities, sliders, lifters ejector systems, cooling lines).
- Replace or refurbish worn-out mold parts as required.
- Ensure proper lubrication and rust prevention of molds.
- Support mold trials and production start-ups after maintenance.
Troubleshooting & Repair
- Analyze molding defects related to mold condition (flash, short shots, burn marks, part sticking, etc.).
- Attend mold breakdowns during production and restore molds quickly.
- Coordinate with production and process teams to resolve mold-related issues.
Die Maintenance Documentation
- Maintain die/mold history cards or digital records.
- Record all preventive and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Update mold maintenance checklists and schedules.
- Document replaced parts, repairs, and modification details.
- Maintain spare parts inventory records for molds.
- Ensure documentation complies with ISO / Quality System requirements.
Preventive Maintenance (PM)
- Follow planned preventive maintenance schedules.
- Prepare PM reports and ensure timely completion.
- Recommend improvement actions to increase mold life and reduce failures.
Required Skills & Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of plastic injection molds and molding processes.
- Ability to read mold drawings and technical documents.
- Knowledge of mold materials, heat treatment, and surface finishes.
- Experience in using measuring instruments (vernier, micrometer, dial gauge).
- Understanding of preventive maintenance systems and documentation.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance records.
