#Profile- Radiology ( HOD)

#Location - Vellore ( Tamil Nadu)

#Experience- 10 to 15 years atleast ( 5 years into leadership role )

Budget - Hike as per experience

Job Summary

The HOD Radiology will lead and manage the Radiology Department, ensuring the delivery of high-quality diagnostic imaging services, patient safety, and compliance with medical standards. The role involves supervising radiologists, technicians, and support staff, developing departmental policies, implementing the latest imaging technologies, and supporting academic and research initiatives (if applicable).

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Administration

Oversee daily operations of the Radiology Department.

Develop and implement departmental policies, protocols, and quality standards.

Ensure compliance with statutory, NABH, NABL, and other accreditation requirements.

Manage staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.

Clinical & Technical Oversight

Supervise and guide radiologists and technologists in diagnostic imaging (X-ray, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Mammography, PET-CT, etc.).

Ensure accurate, timely, and high-quality radiology reporting.

Monitor radiation safety protocols and patient safety standards.

Stay updated with advancements in imaging technology and incorporate them into practice.

Teaching & Research (if applicable)

Conduct academic sessions, CME, and training programs for students, residents, and staff.

Encourage and support clinical research and publications in radiology.

Mentor junior doctors, residents, and fellows.

Collaboration & Patient Care

Coordinate with clinicians, surgeons, and other departments for integrated patient care.

Ensure excellent patient experience, including effective communication of diagnostic findings.

Handle escalations and complex cases requiring expert consultation.

Performance & Continuous Improvement

Monitor departmental KPIs and prepare reports for hospital management.

Implement best practices to improve efficiency and turnaround time.

Lead departmental audits and continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Requirements

MD / DNB / DM in Radiology from a recognized institution.

Minimum 1015 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

Strong expertise in cross-sectional imaging, interventional radiology, and advanced modalities.

Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.

Exposure to NABH/NABL/JCI accreditation processes preferred.
