Supporting Actions

Land Acquisition & Availability

(Ensure timely acquisition and handover of land required for mining operations in line with project schedules.)

. Plan and execute land acquisition strategies aligned with mine expansion and production targets

. Liaise with government authorities for notifications, approvals, and possession processes

. Monitor progress against acquisition milestones and resolve bottlenecks proactively

. Maintain a pipeline of land parcels to avoid operational disruptions

Statutory Compliance & Clearances

(Ensure full compliance with all legal, regulatory, and statutory requirements related to land.)

. Track and implement applicable land laws, policies, and amendments

. Coordinate for required clearances (forest, environment, revenue, etc.)

. Ensure proper documentation, record-keeping, and audit readiness

. Address observations from regulatory inspections and audits

Rehabilitation & Resettlement (R&R) Management

(Implement effective R&R programs in line with legal provisions and company policies)

. Oversee execution of resettlement sites and infrastructure development

. Engage with affected families to address grievances and expectations

  • Monitor R&R outcomes to ensure sustainability and compliance

Stakeholder & Community Relations

(Build and maintain positive relationships with local communities, authorities, and other stakeholders.)

. Conduct regular community engagement and awareness programs

. Coordinate with local administration, panchayats, and opinion leaders

. Anticipate and mitigate potential conflicts or resistance

. Support CSR initiatives linked to community development

Land Records & Documentation Management

(Maintain accurate, updated, and secure land records for all acquired and proposed land.)

. Verify land titles, ownership records, and legal status before acquisition

. Digitize land records and maintain centralized databases

. Ensure traceability of documents for legal and audit purposes

. Resolve discrepancies in land records through coordination with authorities.

Legal Case & Dispute Management

(Minimize legal risks and ensure effective handling of land-related disputes and litigation)

. Coordinate with legal teams to manage court cases and hearings

. Prepare documentation and evidence for legal proceedings

. Track case status and pursue timely resolution

. Develop strategies to prevent recurring disputes

Cross-functional Coordination

(Align land-related activities with mining, project, environment, and finance functions)

. Participate in project planning and review meetings

. Provide inputs on land availability and risks for project decisions

. Ensure synchronization of land handover with project execution timelines

. Facilitate internal communication across departments

Team Leadership & Capability Building

(Lead and develop the land function team to achieve organizational goals.)

. Set performance targets and monitor team outcomes

. Build capability in legal, R&R, and stakeholder management areas

. Ensure adequate staffing and resource allocation

. Foster a culture of accountability and ethical conduct

MBA /Post Graduate in any discipline .

LLB is preferred

Minimum 15 -20 years of relevant exposure in leading land activities in projects.

Knowledge of LARR & CBA Acts
