Overview

Waters is currently seeking a Principal DevOpsEngineer to work in our Engineering Infrastructure team to enhance our adoption of Cloud infrastructure,maintainingmonitoring and alerting tooling, andmaintaincontinuous delivery pipelines.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect, design, document and implement quality solutions
  • Work independently and as part of a team with deep focus on hard technical problems and explain the why, how, and what, that makes your solution technically sound, provide constructive feedbackregardingbest practices, performance, and maintainability
  • Leadepicrefinement meetings to ensure stories are understood and decomposed adequately
  • Stay ahead of the curve with respect tonew technologiesand techniques with an eye towards continual improvement of both the team's skill set and the product goals
  • Lead and drivethe design andmaintaina one-click deployment pipeline using a combination of Terraform and Spinnaker on Kubernetes.
  • Leadthe design of secure, scalable, operationally robust infrastructure (primarily on AWS).
  • Continuously improve and refine the build and deployment process.
  • Develop and improve our monitoring and observability tooling.
  • Assistin the maintenance of the development, staging and production environments and deployments.
  • Empower and enable your delivery teammates by helping them help themselves.
  • Support production platforms andassistingin incident support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or other related discipline or equivalent work experiencerequired
  • 2+ years of recent experience with modern CI/CD solutions
  • 8+year's experiencein a software organization.

PreferredExperience

  • Expertisewith AWS cloud technologies
  • Expertisewithcontainerizationtechnology, such as Docker
  • Expertisewithcontainer orchestration technologies, such as Kubernetes.
  • Expertisewith infrastructure configuration management and orchestration tools,especially Terraform.
  • Expertisewith CI/CD platforms / tools,e.g.GitHub, GitLab, Azure DevOps etc.
  • Experience with metric driven monitoring and alerting systems.
  • Proficiencyin at least one statically or dynamically compiled programming language. Preference with one or more of the following: Python, C#, Groovy, Go
  • Experience of leading and mentoring other developers.
