AWS DevOps Engineer

Experience: 5+ years

Salary: USD 2,000 - 2,500 / month (based on experience)

Expected Notice Period: 2 to 4 Weeks

Shift: (GMT+05:30) Asia/Kolkata (IST)

Roles & Responsibilities

Own and maintain our current architecture environment and AWS cloud infrastructure.

  • Manage CI/CD process for deployment.
  • Create and manage development staging, UAT, production environments for full SDLC requirements.
  • Manage platform security, external and internal access to our servers and databases.
  • Manage 0 downtime, disaster recovery and execution plans.
  • Host and maintain different servers to support GDPR and regional compliance requirements around the globe.
  • Maintain system architecture and VPN access for all users
  • Maintain branching and deployment strategies of our codebase.
  • Maintain and stay current with all tools and vendors to meet SOC 2 requirements.

Champion and lead implementation toward cloud-native technologies to enable growth of product and team while maintaining high velocity.

  • Establish best practices for backend development to avoid common pitfalls and gotchas.
  • Identify opportunities to deploy cloud-native solutions that benefit our engineering team by measure of development speed, enabling team growth, and democratizing the codebases.
  • Evangelize new technologies and consistently measure the importance of adoption based on return value to the business goals and needs.
  • Design and architect cloud-native implementations for eligible services.

Collaborate with the team to foster a growth environment for our product, technology, ideas, and people.

  • Improve code quality through code reviews, unit and feature testing, and software design.
  • Share insights and discuss tradeoffs of different approaches to solve difficult problems, ensuring that effective long-lasting solutions are implemented.
  • Raise and mitigate technical and schedule risk associated with active projects.
  • Ensure the team is resourced and capable of delivering key projects by contributing to project and task planning, time estimations, scheduling, and staffing.
  • Mentor team to build scalable and robust software, ensuring that we can handle burst-growth in a number of clients

This Role Requires:

Skills and Expertise:

5+ years of experience in managing AWS cloud infrastructure in Agile environments. Industry knowledge within wealth management or alternative investing is nice to have. Must have proven ability as displayed by your work on major products and applications. Must have experience dealing with third-party integrations, state management, multi-step workflow management, as well as monitoring and logging. Results-oriented; and able to make recommendations for cloud architecture optimizing for development speed, reusability, and security. Familiar with SOC2, strict audibility, data compliance, dealing with PII, GDPR and financial data.
