OptimusPrime Research is a quantitative and high-frequency trading (HFT) firm. We build ultra-low latency trading systems in C++ and Python and operate across multiple global venues, including colocated environments at exchanges. We are seeking a DevOps Engineer with more than 2 years of experience to join our Bangalore team. This role is central to automating and securing the infrastructure that powers our research and live trading systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain AWS infrastructure for research, backtesting, and production workloads.
- Build and manage CI/CD pipelines for C++ and Python applications to ensure rapid and reliable delivery.
- Automate provisioning and monitoring for colocation environments, including server deployments and low-latency system tuning.
- Implement and enforce cybersecurity best practices across both on-prem and cloud systems.
- Manage LDAP/Active Directory for centralized authentication and fine-grained access control.
- Partner with developers to optimize build/test pipelines for performance-critical C++/Python codebases.
- Automate infrastructure tasks using Terraform, Ansible, or similar tools.
- Ensure high availability and proactive monitoring of mission-critical trading systems.
- Respond to incidents, perform troubleshooting, and deliver long-term preventive solutions.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of DevOps/SRE experience, ideally in finance, trading, or other high-performance domains.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of AWS services (IAM, EC2, VPC, S3, CloudWatch, etc.).
- Solid experience in Linux systems administration and networking fundamentals.
- Practical experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, GitHub Actions).
- Experience managing LDAP/Active Directory environments.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity practices — IAM, intrusion detection, encryption, vulnerability management.
- Proficiency in scripting with Python and Bash/Shell.
- Familiarity with C++ build systems (CMake, Bazel, Make) and Python packaging/deployment.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to low-latency trading infrastructure and exchange colocation.
- Knowledge of specialized NICs and time synchronization (ExaNIC, Solarflare, PTP).
- Containerization and orchestration experience (Docker, Kubernetes).
- AWS or security certifications (AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Security+).
