We are actively seeking a highly skilled and proactive DevOps Engineer to join our client, Airavana, through Acme Services. This pivotal role is essential for understanding, automating, and scaling Airavana's cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on Developer Experience, Core Infrastructure (Scalability, Performance & Optimization), Security & Compliance, and Engineering Processes. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of hands-on experience in DevOps or System Administration, possessing in-depth knowledge of UNIX-like operating systems, strong scripting skills (Python, Shell, Perl), and expertise in cloud computing platforms like AWS. You will be instrumental in ensuring high availability, implementing CI/CD pipelines, and troubleshooting production issues for a massive-scale infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Automation & Scaling: Understand, automate, and scale Airavana cloud infrastructure. This involves learning and working with various cloud technologies, scripting languages, and Configuration Management (CM) tools.
- Production Ownership & Monitoring: Own Airavana production services, ensuring complete monitoring coverage, proactive troubleshooting, and timely resolution of production issues.
- Efficiency & Automation Projects: Architect and implement projects specifically designed to reduce or eliminate repetitive and administrative tasks, driving operational efficiency.
- High Availability & Disaster Recovery: Ensure all services and infrastructure are Highly Available, with robust Disaster Recovery mechanisms in place.
- Performance Engineering: Conduct Performance Engineering for backend services and stores such as EFK (Elasticsearch, Fluentd, Kibana), Kafka, and API Gateways.
- CI/CD Pipeline Management: Design, develop, and maintain a robust CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery) pipeline.
- Collaborative Team Work: Work effectively in a lean team, with a focus on getting things done efficiently and collaboratively.
Must Have Skills
- 2-5 years of hands-on experience with DevOps or System Administration teams.
- In-depth knowledge of running/managing UNIX-like operating systems (experience with Ubuntu is a plus).
- Good programming skills with a focus on scripting (Python, Shell, Perl).
- Experience in various open-source tools for monitoring, graphing, capacity planning, and logging.
- Experience with Cloud Computing platforms like Amazon AWS.
- Possess an automation mindset and the ability to reason and work with complex systems.
- Experience with managing NoSQL and RDBMS (PostgreSQL).
- Ability to analyze bottlenecks in architecture and quickly debug to reach a resolution for issues.
- Experience automating the management of Kubernetes clusters and applications (experience with KOPS is a plus).
- Must have built and deployed a CI/CD infrastructure (experience with Jenkins, ArgoCD, GitOps is a plus).
- Experience working in fast-paced agile teams.
- Excellent team player with good communication, interpersonal skills, self-starter, and positive attitude.
Good to Have Skills
- Good fundamental knowledge of networking (TCP/IP, firewalls, routing).
- Experience with automation tools like Ansible.
- Experience with queuing systems (Kafka, AWS SQS) and Big Data platforms (Spark, Flink).
- Experience with performance engineering is a plus.
- Ability to work with multiple competing demands on your time.
