DevOps Engineer 4

As a DevOps Engineer IV at Jumio, you will be a technical leader responsible for both development and operations aspects of our systems. You will leverage deep knowledge of systems architecture and core computer science concepts to design, deploy, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance infrastructure. This role offers high visibility, cross-departmental impact, and opportunities to mentor junior engineers while shaping Jumio's DevOps culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cloud Infrastructure Management: Deploy, manage, and administer web services in public cloud environments (primarily AWS).
• Solution Design & Development: Design secure, highly available, and scalable services for elastic cloud environments.
• CI/CD Management: Maintain and continuously improve CI/CD solutions to enhance deployment efficiency.
• Operational Ownership: Manage automation, monitoring, alerting, reliability, and performance of web services.
• Incident Management: Drive resolution and communication during production-impacting incidents.
• Technical Leadership: Lead technical projects, ensure timely delivery, and mentor junior engineers.
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineering and business teams across geographies to drive operational excellence.

Experience & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years of professional DevOps/infrastructure experience, including 5+ years in AWS.
• Strong foundation in operating systems, networking, distributed systems, and system architecture.
• Hands-on expertise with AWS services, orchestration (ECS, EKS), and infrastructure management.
• Proficiency in CI/CD platforms (Jenkins, GitHub, GitHub Actions).
• Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, Packer) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with artifact management (AWS CodeArtifact, GitHub Packages, Artifactory).
• Knowledge of DevSecOps practices, cloud-native security, IAM, least privilege, certificates, and auditability.
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Broad exposure to cloud applications, virtualization, relational/non-relational databases, reverse proxies, and orchestration platforms.

Preferred / Nice to Have:

• Prior experience as a senior developer or application architect.
• Expertise in designing and maintaining high-availability CI/CD solutions.
• Exposure to AWS ML pipeline services (SageMaker).
• Development experience or familiarity with Java, Python, JavaScript, and package managers (Maven, pip/uv, npm/yarn).
• Experience with observability stacks (Datadog, ELK).
• Experience in compliance-regulated environments (PCI DSS, ISO 27000, HIPAA, SOC 2, GDPR).
