Job Description

Role: Desktop Support Engineer

Role Overview:

Alternative Path is looking for a Desktop Support Engineer to join our team and provide dedicated IT support for one of our global clients, a market leader in credit intelligence. In this role, you will be an integral part of Global Corporate IT team, delivering exceptional technical support to employees across the APAC region while helping maintain a reliable, secure, and high performing IT environment.

This is an opportunity to work with a fast-paced, technology-driven organization where journalists, financial analysts, legal analysts, technologists, and data scientists collaborate to deliver actionable intelligence to leading financial institutions worldwide. You will play a key role in ensuring a seamless end-user experience by troubleshooting technical issues, supporting IT infrastructure, deploying new technologies, and solving complex technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Candidates should be flexible to work in a 24/7 support environment.
  • Exceptional customer service, attention to detail, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, multi-task and establish priorities while having a passion to help people and to learn and improve IT in an innovative manner.
  • Proficient in both macOS and Windows operating system and hardware troubleshooting. Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Web conferencing knowledge (tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Slack etc...).
  • Experience with Okta and back-office applications (SSO, G Suite / Google Workplace, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Intune and Jamf Pro etc.).
  • Creating updating and maintaining end-user facing knowledge-based articles.
  • Maintaining infrastructure documentation, including diagrams and configurations.

Preferred

  • Networking knowledge and experience (e.g. Meraki, Cisco)
  • Experience with Jira/ Atlassian Experience with AI tools; Claude, Chatgpt, Gemini, Copiot
  • Experience working with third-party hardware and software and procurement practice
  • Basic understanding of SOC 2, ISO 27001, or GDPR.
