URI Design Studio is an independent lighting design practice based in New Delhi, working across South Asia and the Gulf region. The studio focuses exclusively on lighting, using a detailed and thoughtful design process to shape atmosphere, reveal architecture, enhance materials, and create meaningful spatial experiences. As a brand-agnostic practice, URI Design Studio collaborates with nearly 80 lighting brands worldwide, selecting solutions based on project-specific needs rather than manufacturer constraints. The team's work spans private residences, workplaces, retail, hospitality, healthcare, cultural and institutional buildings, commercial developments, and large townships, as well as exhibitions, installations, events, and live shows. Across all projects, the practice emphasizes how light interacts with architecture, materials, people, and the overall experience of a place.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site Designer role based in Gurugram. The Designer will contribute to lighting concepts, visualizations, and detailed design for a range of architectural and experiential projects, working closely with senior designers and project leads. Daily responsibilities include preparing design presentations, developing drawings and technical documentation, coordinating with project stakeholders, and supporting site implementation and reviews. The role involves collaborating with architects, interior and landscape designers, consultants, and vendors to integrate lighting solutions that are both visually compelling and technically sound. The Designer is expected to participate in project meetings, maintain organized project files, and support the continuous refinement of studio standards and design processes.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in architectural or interior design, with the ability to translate concepts into clear layouts, plans, and visual narratives.
• Proficiency in design and visualization software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, Adobe Creative Suite); familiarity with Dialux Evo is an advantage.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams, communicate design ideas clearly, and manage time across multiple projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Lighting Design, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Attention to detail, a strong sense of aesthetics, and openness to learning within a specialized, design-driven practice.
