A Mold Design In charge is responsible for coordinating the design work and gets the team involved in the entire Project, right from the work of design thinking team and the planning phase to the Manufacturing and the final Trial.
Key Responsibility:
- Supervise design department staff, handling a wide range of Projects.
- Review new parts and engineering changes for moulding feasibility and propose changes to part design where necessary to reduce tooling cost and minimize potential moulding problems.
- Propose concept tool designs for challenging or unusual parts.
- Estimate design time for all new tools and engineering changes.
- Assign and monitor status of design jobs to optimize workflow and meet scheduling and budget requirements.
- Contract review coordination activities
- Participating management review meeting
- Attending to Customer complaint and coordination activities
- Coordination activities with Customer as well as with Production/Quality and with process owner as applicable
- Coordination with Quality for the analysis of Customer return if any.
- Any other responsibility as suggested by the Technical Director as and when required
- New product enquiry, feasibility Quotation to customer in consultation with Commercial Director or Technical director.
- Approve Mold designs, source Molds through approved suppliers (domestically and internationally), and track Mold builds.
- Work within the constraints of budget, schedule and scope to manage risk and ensure adherence to established processes and methodologies through recheck
- Interaction with customers, suppliers, and internal resources
- Demonstration of advanced knowledge in tooling design
- Defining and managing scope, time and cost for complex projects or programs
- Identifying risks, taking responsibility for mitigation actions, and managing mitigation plan
- Assist in troubleshooting tool build and moulding process issues at production facilities.
- Create detailed Mold and tool designs if required by workload.
- Quality management - determine and execute the appropriate level of technical quality review required on all design projects.
- Complete design feasibility review with customer within 3 working days from the MSS review.
- EGP concept released parallelly during feasibility review.
- Adherence to mould design milestones ex. steel ordering, drawing release,
- Timely update and Maintain TGW, TGR records.
- Prepare and maintain back plan for design.
