Position Title: Electrical Design Manager
Department: Electrical Design Engineering
Reporting To: Director
Location: Chennai

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Electrical Design Manager will lead the electrical design function with a strong focus on Low Voltage Control Panel Design and Industrial Automation. This role is responsible for managing design quality, ensuring compliance with international standards, meeting customer deadlines, and coordinating with internal teams and clients to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and manage the electrical design team to ensure accuracy, quality, and timely delivery
- Regular Communication with Customer to Collect Project Information and Discussions
- Proficiency in English is must, to interact with USA Customers
- Ensure compliance with UL 508A, NEMA, ANSI, IEC, IS, and European standards
- Develop and manage Project Schedules, tasks, and milestones
- Guide and mentor the drafting team in accordance with design standards
- Review customer device lists and create accurate component footprints
- Interpret P&ID / PFD and project scope documents to prepare SLDs and I/O lists
- Quality Check for electrical schematics, BOMs, and panel GA drawings
- Perform and validate load (heat & power) calculations, motor/drive selection, and cable sizing
- Ensure timely submission of all design deliverables to clients
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline
- 515 years of experience in Electrical Design, specifically LV Control Panel Design and Industrial Automation Systems
- Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems
- Ability to interpret technical specifications and customer requirements
- Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills
TECHNICAL SKILLS
- AutoCAD Electrical: Project creation, symbol development, report generation
- EPLAN Electric P8: Macro creation, project development, reporting
- Knowledge of PLCs, VFDs, control relays, and electrical components
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
