Job Description

Role Overview: Design Manager

The Design Manager is responsible for leading a team of Interior Designers and Draftsmen while ensuring design excellence, adherence to Bonito's design language, and seamless cross-functional coordination. This role blends creative leadership, client engagement, and project ownership, ensuring designs are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Project Ownership

  • Lead and manage end-to-end design delivery across multiple projects
  • Define design strategy and planning at project kick-off
  • Ensure consistency with Bonito's design philosophy and quality benchmarks
  • Review and approve all design outputs before client presentations
  • Oversee 2D drawings, 3D designs, estimates, and BOQs
  • Conduct design reviews at site and ensure execution alignment

Client Management

  • Participate in key client meetings and design presentations
  • Guide designers to effectively close designs with clients
  • Handle complex design discussions, revisions, and escalations
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the design lifecycle

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and coach Interior Designers, Draftsmen, and new joinees
  • Evaluate team performance and provide continuous feedback
  • Train and onboard new Designers and CRM/design team members
  • Foster collaboration, accountability, and a high-performance culture

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Collaborate closely with Sales, CRM, Execution, and Estimation teams
  • Manage design timelines and ensure alignment with project schedules
  • Proactively identify risks and resolve design or coordination issues

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

  • Create and review design concepts and layouts
  • Stay updated with market trends, materials, and best practices
  • Drive design innovation while maintaining feasibility and cost efficiency

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience & Education

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in Interior Design / ArchitectureDegree/Diploma in Interior Design or Architecture
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, rendering software
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop & MS Office
  • Strong understanding of construction detailing and execution feasibility
