Role Overview: Design Manager
The Design Manager is responsible for leading a team of Interior Designers and Draftsmen while ensuring design excellence, adherence to Bonito's design language, and seamless cross-functional coordination. This role blends creative leadership, client engagement, and project ownership, ensuring designs are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Project Ownership
- Lead and manage end-to-end design delivery across multiple projects
- Define design strategy and planning at project kick-off
- Ensure consistency with Bonito's design philosophy and quality benchmarks
- Review and approve all design outputs before client presentations
- Oversee 2D drawings, 3D designs, estimates, and BOQs
- Conduct design reviews at site and ensure execution alignment
Client Management
- Participate in key client meetings and design presentations
- Guide designers to effectively close designs with clients
- Handle complex design discussions, revisions, and escalations
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the design lifecycle
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and coach Interior Designers, Draftsmen, and new joinees
- Evaluate team performance and provide continuous feedback
- Train and onboard new Designers and CRM/design team members
- Foster collaboration, accountability, and a high-performance culture
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate closely with Sales, CRM, Execution, and Estimation teams
- Manage design timelines and ensure alignment with project schedules
- Proactively identify risks and resolve design or coordination issues
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
- Create and review design concepts and layouts
- Stay updated with market trends, materials, and best practices
- Drive design innovation while maintaining feasibility and cost efficiency
Ideal Candidate Profile
Experience & Education
- Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in Interior Design / ArchitectureDegree/Diploma in Interior Design or Architecture
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, rendering software
- Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop & MS Office
- Strong understanding of construction detailing and execution feasibility
