Primary job title: Lead Sportswear Designer. Location: India On-site role focused on studio-based product leadership and cross-functional delivery.
Role & Responsibilities
- Define and drive seasonal design direction for sportswear and activewear collections, translating trend insights into cohesive product lines and concept boards.
- Create detailed technical flats, spec sheets and tech packs; oversee prototype iterations, fit sessions and final approvals to ensure correct fit, function and finish.
- Lead material and trim selection with a focus on performance textiles, moisture management, stretch, compression and durability; collaborate with suppliers to source and validate components.
- Manage end-to-end product development timelines and line plans, coordinating with product managers, sourcing, production and marketing to meet launch dates and commercial targets.
- Mentor and coach designers and junior patternmakers; establish design standards, best practices and quality checkpoints to raise team output and consistency.
- Partner with vendors to optimize cost, quality and manufacturability while maintaining brand performance standards and compliance with labeling and care requirements.
