Job Summary
Infrawala is looking for a creative and experienced Design Lead to manage end-to-end design planning, coordination, execution support, and quality assurance for construction and interior fit-out projects. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in design management, project coordination, stakeholder communication, and execution detailing while ensuring timely delivery and compliance with project standards.
The role requires close coordination with clients, project teams, vendors, consultants, and site execution teams to ensure seamless design implementation across all stages of the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Design Planning & Coordination
• Lead and manage complete design activities for ongoing and upcoming projects.
• Prepare project design timelines and ensure timely delivery of all design milestones.
• Coordinate with clients, architects, consultants, and internal teams for design approvals and execution readiness.
• Ensure all design deliverables are aligned with project scope, BOQs, and execution requirements.
• Monitor project design progress and update status through internal systems and documentation platforms.
Design Documentation & Compliance
• Prepare, review, and validate drawings, layouts, GFCs, and technical documentation.
• Ensure all statutory approvals, design compliances, and required documentation are completed before execution.
• Maintain updated project drawings, revisions, approvals, and documentation records.
• Coordinate with authorities, landlords, and consultants for design-related approvals and clearances.
Execution Support & Site Coordination
• Coordinate with project execution and site teams for smooth implementation of approved designs.
• Ensure design intent is maintained during on-site execution activities.
• Conduct regular site visits and review execution quality against approved drawings.
• Resolve site-level design issues and coordinate design modifications when required.
• Ensure all design revisions and changes are properly documented and communicated to stakeholders.
Vendor & Material Coordination
• Coordinate with procurement and vendor teams for material specifications and approvals.
• Verify material selections, finishes, and samples as per approved design standards.
• Support vendor coordination for custom fabrication, furniture, fixtures, and specialized requirements.
• Ensure timely release of design inputs for procurement and execution activities.
Quality Control & Snag Management
• Ensure adherence to defined design quality standards and specifications.
• Identify, monitor, and close design-related snags within project timelines.
• Conduct quality reviews and coordinate corrective actions with execution teams and vendors.
• Verify final execution quality before project handover.
Project Closure & Handover
• Support final inspections, project closure, and handover processes.
• Ensure all final drawings, as-built documentation, and project records are properly maintained.
• Coordinate client walkthroughs and resolve final design observations.
• Ensure project completion aligns with approved designs, specifications, and contractual requirements.
Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management
• Lead and mentor junior designers and design coordinators.
• Coordinate cross-functional communication between design, procurement, and execution teams.
• Drive accountability, process improvements, and efficient project coordination.
• Present design concepts, updates, and progress reports to management and clients.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Civil Engineering, or related field.
• 5–10 years of relevant experience in interior design, architectural coordination, or design management.
• Prior experience in construction, commercial interiors, infrastructure, or fit-out projects preferred.
Required Skills
• Strong expertise in design planning and project coordination.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, 3D visualization tools, and MS Office.
• Strong understanding of GFC drawings, BOQs, and execution detailing.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines efficiently.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
