Job Description

Role Title DGM/ GM Design & Engineering
Job Location Mumbai
Reporting to CTO (Chief Technical Officer )
Overview: As the Design GM for Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Power Plants, you will lead a team of engineers and designers in the creation and
implementation of solar projects. Your role involves managing the design lifecycle from conceptualization to execution, ensuring
that projects meet technical specifications, are cost-effective, and adhere to industry standards.

Project Management:
- Oversee the entire design process for solar PV power plants.
- Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, and other stakeholders.

Design and Compliance:
- Develop and review design plans, specifications, and construction documents.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international codes and standards.
- Optimize designs for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to define project requirements.
- Present design solutions and progress updates to stakeholders.
- Address any concerns and incorporate feedback into design revisions.
Technical Expertise:
- Stay updated with the latest innovations and technology trends in solar PV design.
- Conduct feasibility studies and technical analysis.
- Implement best practices and industry advancements.
Quality Assurance:
- Implement and monitor quality assurance processes.
- Conduct design audits and reviews to ensure adherence to standards.
- Collaborate with quality control teams to resolve design-related issues during project implementation.

Role Demands

As and when required.
Qualification
Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering. - Minimum 10 years experience in solar PV design and project management of single plants of 100 MWp and higher. - Must have design expertise to conceptualize and design the HT Evacuation infrastructure for utility scale Solar Projects. - Proficiency in design software and tools such as AutoCAD, PVSyst, Sketchup and Helioscope. - Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Key Result Areas

Design Efficiency:
- Achieve a reduction in overall design cost by optimizing resource allocation and minimizing material wastage.
- Ensure 90% of project designs are completed within the scheduled timeline.

2. Project Delivery:
- Attain client satisfaction scores of 85% or higher in design reviews.
- Deliver 95% of projects without major design-related overruns or changes.

3. Team Development:
- Conduct quarterly training sessions to enhance team skills.
- Develop a career progression plan for team members with 90% adherence.

4. Compliance and Quality:
- Maintain a 98% compliance rate with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Achieve a 95% pass rate in design audits and quality checks.

Preferred Skills:

18 + years of experience required in Design & Engineering.
Expertise in optimizing designs to meet client requirements and Project demands.
Ability to address and demonstrate technical challenges with suitable solutions during Project execution.
Strong understanding of electrical drawings and OEM supply documents to align with solar PV design requirements.
Ability to Communicate with Client-Consultants-EPC & INC teams and all other applicable agencies involved with the SPV
Projects.
Ability to evaluate Technical Proposals, OEM Drawings, and Equipment Specifications to meet project needs.
Leadership in guiding a team of design engineers to ensure timely delivery of drawings and project-specific documents.
Strong coordination skills to manage site, consultants, design teams, SCM, BD, and execution teams for smooth project
execution.
Capable to update higher management in a defined periodic frame in respect to Solar PV Projects.
