Job Requirements
- Exp-10-15 Years experience into Design to Engineering full cycle from Transformer/ Bushing/ insulators industry
- Qualification - B.E. Electrical/ Mechanical
- Designation Manager- Design Engineering
- Location- Vadodara
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Leadership & Governance
- Lead and manage engineering processes to ensure they are fit for purpose, compliant with customer specifications, IEC/IEEE standards, and applicable Indian regulatory requirements (e.g., BIS, CEA where applicable).
- Own and manage the Engineering function for Bushing products, delivering engineering outputs on time, within budget, and to defined quality standards.
- Drive a strong design review and validation culture, ensuring structured checkpoints from design input to final design output.
Design, Quality & Process Excellence
- Manage the complete design-to-engineering deliverables lifecycle, including:
- Design inputs and specifications
- Design reviews (internal, crossfunctional, and customer-facing)
- Design outputs and documentation
- Strengthen design control mechanisms, including design checklists, quality inspection cards, EoCs, test results, and validation records.
- Reduce design errors, rework, and cost of poor quality (COPQ) through robust root cause analysis of test failures and field failures.
- Continuously improve bushing design processes to enhance quality, productivity, and standardization.
Performance Management & KPIs
- Define, track, analyze, and act on engineering KPIs related to quality, productivity, cycle time, and cost.
- Drive databased decision-making to improve engineering efficiency and firsttimeright performance.
Risk, Compliance & Audits
- Manage engineering project risks as defined by EoCs and internal risk frameworks.
- Lead and support internal and external audits related to the engineering function, including customer audits and certification audits.
- Ensure implementation and adherence to the latest technical standards, design rules, and engineering checklists relevant to bushing products.
Global Collaboration & Knowledge Management
- Act as a key interface between Factory Engineering, R&D, Global Product Support, and other global engineering hubs, ensuring alignment and smooth knowledge transfer.
- Drive Design Anywhere Produce Anywhere (DAPA) initiatives and global process changes.
- Promote monthly design mistake sharing, best practice exchange, and structured knowledge management within the engineering team.
People, Capability & Culture
- Ensure engineering competencies are developed and sustained in line with current and future market needs in India and APMEA.
- Coach, mentor, and develop engineers, creating a strong succession pipeline and technical leadership bench.
