Job Description
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and motivated Engineer specifically within the passenger car segment with 1 to 9 years of hands-on experience in Interior & Exterior, Overall Vehicle design, Cabin Design, BIW, Doors & Structure, packaging concepts, PDM Documentation and vehicle layout. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge, practical experience in NX Unigraphics, and a solid understanding of automotive systems integration and vehicle regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct packaging investigations for vehicle systems such as engine compartment, steering system, etc., ensuring alignment with project objectives regarding dimensional concepts, functionality, legal compliance, and manufacturability.
- Body-in-White Design and Development (Car/Van).
- Knowledge of welding techniques. Understanding of BiW Material, joining methodology such as Welding, riveting and gluing.
- Mechanisms Experience in BiW. Working Knowledge of mechanism design and development in UG NX. Kinematic knowledge for Mechanisms in UG NX.
- Casting components design will be added advantage
- Knowledge on Cockpit system, Centre Console & Seating.
- Knowledge of Interior and Exterior trims, understanding of tailgate mechanism.
- Knowledge of Exhaust system, Fuel system, Hydraulic lines, Axles, towing mechanism.
- Knowledge of Exterior Trims, Cooling module and cooling lines, HVAC system, Hydraulics, Steering system, Suspension, Front axle, Exhaust system, Engine, Engine peripheral, Transmission, Engine mounts.
- Understanding of Crash behaviour and pedestrian protection.
- Evaluate and analyze building spaces, ensuring appropriate clearances between parts.
- Collaborate with packaging engineers for package checks and package releases.
- Support packaging teams in smooth project execution and integration of vehicle systems.
- Interpret and implement vehicle regulatory requirements into the design process.
- Participate in system integration reviews and contribute to the development of optimal vehicle layouts.
- Work with PDM/PLM tools for data management and documentation.
- Creation, documentation, and archiving data in PLM system
- Proficient in Product Data Management, particularly in release activities
- Expert in managing Variant Matrix & Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Follow Automotive New Product Introduction (NPI) processes throughout the design and development lifecycle.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with BOM management specific to automotive components
- Strong knowledge of packaging concepts and integration in the passenger car segment.
- Good understanding of relevant vehicle regulations and standards.
- Expertise in using NX Unigraphics (mandatory).
- Strong command of PLM software tools (eg. Siemens Teamcenter )
- Experience with PDM/PLM tools.
- Excellent understanding of mechanical design and system-level integration.
- Awareness of Automotive NPI processes and design validation methods.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving mindset.
- This role demands a balance of technical expertise, speed, and precision, along with strong communication and documentation skills using Microsoft Office tools.

- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes
- Expertise in Engineering Change Management managing Variant BOM using ECO/ECR/ECN.
Preferred Qualifications (Optional):
- Experience with global automotive OEMs or Tier-1 suppliers.
- Familiarity with GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Exposure to cross-functional teams including design, manufacturing, and regulatory affairs.
- Basic knowledge of Hybrid and Electric vehicle architecture.
