Position: Design Engineer

Job Overview:
A Design Engineer in the manufacturing industry focuses on creating, developing, and improving products or mechanical components so they can be efficiently produced in factories. The role combines engineering design, analysis, and collaboration with production teams.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Create new product designs based on customer or company requirements.
- Develop 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD.
- Modify existing designs to improve performance, reliability, or cost.
- Perform design calculations and simulations.
- Ensure designs meet engineering standards and specifications.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings and technical documents.
- Create Bill of Materials (BOM) for manufacturing.
- Maintain design records and revision history.
- Develop prototypes of new products.
- Conduct testing to verify performance and functionality.
- Update designs based on test results.
- Ensure designs are easy to manufacture and assemble.
- Select suitable materials and manufacturing processes.
- Work with production teams to solve manufacturing issues.
- Coordinate with production, quality, and procurement departments.
- Support the manufacturing team during product launch.
- Communicate with suppliers and customers regarding technical details.
- Implement design changes based on feedback from production or customers.
- Part can actually be produced by processes like laser cutting, punching, and bending knowledge.
- Knowledge of Sheet Metal Processes
- Knowledge on bending calculations
Qualifications:
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience Required: Worked in manufacturing precision products and sheet metal industries Min 3 years experience.
