Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities & Tasks:
- Design and develop automotive sealing systems (door seals, window seals, trunk seals, hood seals, sunroof seals) ensuring compliance with vehicle requirements.
- Create and modify 3D CAD models and 2D drawings using tools like CATIA V5/V6
- Define section profiles considering functional requirements such as sealing performance, compression, and manufacturability.
- Ensure adherence to master sections, styling surfaces, and gap & flush targets.
- Support Validation of designs through CAE simulations and physical testing (water leak test, wind noise, durability, compression set).
- Work closely with Body Engineering, Closures, Trim, Manufacturing, and Supplier teams for design integration.
- Interface with suppliers for design feasibility, tooling inputs, and cost optimization.
- Manage design releases through ENOVIA PLM systems.
- Handle Engineering Change Requests (ECR/ECO) and ensure proper documentation.
- Ensure compliance with OEM standards, regulatory requirements, and global specifications.
- Apply best practices in weatherstrip design, rubber materials (EPDM, TPE), and joining techniques.
