Responsible for the design and development of DSS (Datacom & Specialty Solutions) I/O products. Independently executes the project and delivers to the stakeholders. Manages new product development & modifications through the complete implementation process to develop product that meet or exceed product performance per internal Molex standards, industry standards or customer specifications.
Good Interaction with Engineering, Manufacturing, Electrical engineering, AQP and marketing team
Our Team
The Copper Solutions Business Unit team at the Global Technical Center in Bengaluru has engineering ownership across several Connector Product Lines, provides Product Design and Validation Services, designs and develops Mold & Die Tooling, Gage & Fixture, Product Testing Systems and Application Tooling services to customers and stakeholders in Datacom and Specialty Solutions Division located across the globe. The Division primarily provides products and solutions that go into Datacenter and related infrastructure that powers cloud computing, artificial intelligence, etc. The position will be part of this engineering team at Molex India Business Services, Bengaluru
What You Will Do
- Design, development, and modification of DSS products that meet or exceed customer expectations. Design includes all aspects of product development such as Concept building, Risk mitigation 3D Modeling, 2D Drawings, tooling, engineering changes, technical documents, tolerance analysis, product testing, etc. Utilizes a working knowledge of material costs and manufacturing processes to determine the impact on various design attributes. Provides input to the DFMEA analysis of the product as required.
- Works with manufacturing engineering to develop manufacturing processes utilizing the latest 3D CAD modeling techniques and other DFM tools
- Provides technical support to customers, suppliers, and inside product marketing personnel
- Work globally with teams to bring products to production.
- Checks engineering, manufacturing and sales drawings for completeness and accuracy.
- Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written, that demonstrate the ability to express complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering with overall 4-7 years of work experience
- Should possess sound knowledge in designing plastic and sheet metal along with their tooling and manufacturing processes.
- Sound Knowledge in product design and development, including but not limited to, material selection, Geometric Dimension & Tolerancing (GD&T), tolerance analysis, DFMEA, product qualification, etc.
- Proficient in solid modeling experience to generate precise 3D models & 2-D drawings
- Knowledge about various phases of product realization and product development
- Analytical ability to apply logical reasoning, test assumptions, observe results and make corrections
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate the ability to express complex technical concepts clearly and concisely
- Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Project, and Power Point
- Travel will be required as necessary
What Will Put You Ahead
- Master's/Additional qualification in Design/Manufacturing/Tool & Die engineering from NTTF, CIPET or similar institutes
- Design and manufacturing expertise in plastic, sheet metal & related tooling's
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles.
- Experience with product development processes, including design, prototyping, and testing.
- Knowledge or Hands on experience on domains like Product Design, Mold Design, Press tool Design, Automation Design.
