SCOPE OF THE ROLE
- Review PDM/BI reports on daily basis and prioritize all the ATS orders based on shipping date. Follow the set design input / output process due-diligently.
- Prepare customer approval drawings from ATS modular design and customize them based on sales data sheet / specification and send it for approval.
- Review project specification, datasheet and customer SLD and prepare overall plan for switchgear and control gear design
- Prepare GA drawing, 3D structural assembly, Bus & Glastic assemblies based on UL/CSA & ANSI certification and send the final 2D drawings for customer approvals.
- Release Buyin's in VM BOM and audit other materials to avoid any delay in procurement.
- Prepare production build pack submittal which includes drawings, BOM, Bus & Glastic cut list and send it to production.
- Support cost out initiatives, process and product design simplification efforts, without affecting the day-to-day order processing and other custom project priorities.
KEY SKILL SETS
- Able to understand overall SLD of the plant & scope of design. Should be able to read & interpret customer specification & technical data correctly.
- Extensive knowledge in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD Mechanical 2D/3D packages. Modelling of switchgear assemblies, bus bar, enclosures, cabling & accessories.
- Experience in design of Automatic transfer switches, low and medium voltage switch gear design
- Extensive knowledge of temperature rise in switch gear (Bus bar / Enclosure)
- Knowledge of medium and low voltage circuit breakers, MCCB's, Power contactors and disconnect switch design.
- Extensive knowledge in derating the breakers in the switchgears and designing various NEMA enclosures.
- Knowledge and experience in lean manufacturing and design. VAVE methodology to drive material cost out initiatives.
- Understanding switchgear protection and automation system
- Should be familiar with all industrial switchgear and ATS design standard like UL#1008, UL#508, CSA#14, CSA#178, CSA#31, UL#1558, ANSI# C37.20.2.
Professional Experience/Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
- 3 to 4 years of experience in switchgear design.
- Strong team player with interpersonal relationship
- Strong willingness to share knowledge and experience
- Ability to demonstrate success in driving projects to meet targets and deadlines
- Ability to show a proactive attitude
