Designation: Design Engineer - FEA
Experience: 5-9 Years
Location: Bangalore
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Designing components and subsystems used in an industrial environment applying principles of engineering. Follow steps described in the process of NPD/ VAVE. Create 3D models and 2D drawings using software like SolidWorks. Create/ update BOM based on design changes.
- Execute FEA simulations in ANSYS, including structural, thermal, modal, and fatigue analyses, Vibration analysis
- Perform calculations to solve engineering problems.
- Interpret simulation results, prepare reports, and recommend design improvements based on FEA insights.
- Interact with internal and external stakeholders for regular reviews.
- Support prototype builds, testing, and engineering validation activities.
- Adhere to quality standards. Apply continuous improvement with the quality framework.
- Present design concepts, simulation results, and project updates to engineering leadership and customers.
Must have skills:
- Hands on experience in product development including concept generation.
- Field solving mechanical engineering problems. Has good knowledge of mechanical engineering principles.
- Proven capability in selecting standard mechanical components (motors, bearings, belts, gears, etc.).
- Has experience in performing structural calculations.
- Strong expertise in 3D CAD modeling and drafting (SolidWorks / Inventor / NX).
- Is aware of PDM process.
- Advanced proficiency in ANSYS FEAstructural analysis, contact analysis, meshing, boundary conditions, and result interpretation.
- Good in creating calculations for solving engineering problems.
- Ability to create clear and concise engineering documentation.
- Excellent communication skills both Verbal and written communication.
- Excellent presentation skills for technical reviews and customer discussions.
- Strong analytical thinking and problemsolving abilities.
- Be able to work in a team.
