Job Description

Job Description: Consultant Doctor

Organisation: CARA Hair Transplant and Aesthetic Clinic, Santacruz West, Mumbai

Department: Medical & Clinical

Reporting To: Medical Director / Founders (Dr. Mohd Asif & Dr. Aleena)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Role Overview

CARA Hair Transplant and Aesthetic Clinic is a leading hair restoration and aesthetics centre in Mumbai, known for advanced techniques including Sapphire FUE and Trichometric FUE hair transplants. We are seeking a motivated and skilled Consultant Doctor to join our growing clinical team. The role encompasses patient consultations, surgical learning and assistance, and contributing to the training and development of clinical staff.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Consultation

  • Conduct in-depth one-on-one consultations to assess patients hair loss conditions, scalp health, and aesthetic goals, and develop customised treatment plans
  • Evaluate patient suitability for surgical procedures (FUE, FUT, Sapphire FUE) and non-surgical treatments, taking into account medical history and contraindications
  • Clearly explain procedure details, realistic outcomes, risks, recovery timelines, and post-operative care to ensure informed patient consent
  • Provide empathetic emotional support and counselling to patients experiencing hair loss, ensuring a holistic, patient-first experience in line with CARA Clinic's philosophy
  • Follow up with patients post-procedure to monitor hair regrowth progress, address concerns, and document outcomes

Surgical Learning & Development

  • Actively participate in and assist during hair transplant surgeries (Sapphire FUE, FUT, graft procedures) under the supervision of senior surgeons to develop surgical proficiency
  • Learn and master advanced extraction and implantation techniques including Sapphire FUE and Trichometric FUE, as practised at CARA Clinic
  • Assist in pre-operative planning, including graft count estimation, hairline design, and donor area assessment
  • Attend workshops, fellowship training programs, and industry conferences to continuously upgrade surgical skills and stay current with global advancements in hair restoration
  • Engage in structured mentorship under CARA's founding doctors to progress from surgical assistance to independent surgical competency

Staff Training & Cross Functional Development

The Consultant Doctor will serve as the primary internal medical knowledge resource for all teams — clinical and non-clinical — ensuring a consistent, accurate, and confident understanding of CARA's treatments across the organisation.

Clinical Staff (Nurses, Technicians, Paramedical)

  • Conduct training sessions for nursing staff, surgical technicians, and paramedical staff on clinical protocols, patient handling, sterilisation, and post-operative care procedures
  • Guide and mentor junior doctors and medical officers on consultation best practices, patient assessment, and treatment planning
  • Develop and update internal SOPs, training manuals, and clinical guidelines in alignment with best practices

Sales & Patient Advisory Team

  • Conduct regular training sessions for the Patient Advisors and Sales Consultants on all treatments offered at CARA — including FUE, Sapphire FUE, PRP, GFC, and non-surgical hair solutions
  • Equip the sales team with clinically accurate knowledge of treatment benefits, expected outcomes, ideal candidacy criteria, and common patient objections so they can handle queries confidently and ethically
  • Train the sales team to identify and escalate medically complex cases for direct doctor consultation, rather than attempting to self-resolve clinical queries
  • Review and validate any treatment-related scripts, pricing presentations, or consultation frameworks used by the sales team to ensure medical accuracy and ethical communication

Marketing Team

  • Collaborate with the marketing team as a clinical advisor to review treatment descriptions, before-after content, social media posts, brochures, emailers, and website copy for medical accuracy and regulatory compliance
  • Conduct periodic knowledge-sharing sessions with the marketing team to brief them on new treatments, procedures, and clinical outcomes so campaigns are grounded in factual, patient-safe messaging
  • Assist in the creation of educational content — including patient FAQs, blogs, videos, and social media explainers — by providing medically sound inputs and reviewing scripts before publication
  • Support the marketing team in understanding the target patient profile for each treatment to enable better audience targeting and messaging

Front Desk & Patient Coordination Team

  • Train front desk executives and patient coordinators on the basics of each treatment — terminology, procedure duration, recovery expectations, and pre-consultation requirements — so they can confidently handle initial patient queries and set accurate expectations
  • Educate coordinators on post-operative care instructions so they can assist patients with routine follow-up queries effectively

Clinical & Administrative Duties

  • Maintain meticulous and accurate patient records, including consultation notes, treatment plans, consent forms, and follow-up documentation
  • Collaborate closely with the surgical team, front desk, and patient care coordinators to ensure a seamless patient journey from inquiry to post-surgical follow-up
  • Uphold the highest standards of medical ethics, patient confidentiality, and compliance with Indian medical regulations (MCI/NMC guidelines)
  • Assist in clinic audits, outcome tracking, and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications & Experience

Education: MBBS (mandatory); MD/MS in Dermatology, Surgery, or related field preferred

Certifications: Training in FUE/FUT hair transplant techniques (ISHRS, ABHRS, or equivalent) preferred

Experience: 1–4 years of clinical experience; prior exposure to aesthetic or dermatology settings preferred

Skills: Strong consultation & communication skills, surgical dexterity, attention to detail

Languages: English and Hindi proficiency; Marathi is a plus (Mumbai-based role)

  • Desired Attributes
  • Passionate about hair restoration and aesthetic medicine with a desire to grow as a surgeon
  • Empathetic, patient-centric approach aligned with CARA Clinic's care philosophy
  • Willingness to learn and be mentored under experienced hair transplant surgeons
  • Team player with the ability to train and elevate those around them
  • High degree of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to clinical excellence

What CARA Offers

  • Hands-on surgical training in advanced techniques like Sapphire FUE under internationally recognised specialists
  • Structured mentorship from CARA's founders — Dr. Mohd Asif and Dr. Aleena
  • Exposure to a high-volume, reputed aesthetic clinic with an international patient base
  • Competitive compensation and opportunities for career progression into senior surgical roles
  • A collaborative, growth-oriented clinical environment`
