About the Role
We are looking for a Derivative Trader to join our proprietary trading desk. The role focuses on trading futures and options in global commodity markets, especially energy products.
The ideal candidate should be comfortable analyzing markets, taking positions based on strong conviction, and managing risk responsibly.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Trading & Execution
- Trade futures contracts in products related to the energy complex on global exchanges.
- Develop and execute trading strategies between multiple products on different exchanges.
- Manage positions proactively while adhering to risk guidelines.
2. Market Analysis
- Track global commodity markets, macro trends, and geopolitical developments.
- Identify trading opportunities based on market movements and price patterns.
3. Collaboration with Quant & Algo Teams
- Work with quantitative and algorithmic teams to improve automated trading strategies.
- Share trade ideas and insights based on market data.
4. Execution & Performance
- Monitor liquidity, order flow, and market depth to improve trade execution.
- Use trading platforms and analytical tools to optimize trading performance.
5. Strategy Development
- Explore new opportunities across commodities or related asset classes.
- Work with risk and research teams to refine strategies over time.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 2+ years of experience trading commodity futures or options.
- Familiarity with exchanges such as CME, ICE, LME, COMEX, or MCX.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Good working knowledge of Excel and trading platforms.
- Ability to make quick decisions in fast-moving market conditions.
