Job Purpose
Position Summary We are looking for an AI & Azure Databricks Developer to join the AI & Tech Center of Excellence (CoE). The role will focus on building and operationalizing data/AI solutions on Azure—developing scalable data pipelines, feature/curated datasets, and AI enablement components using Azure Databricks, Data Lake and Python.
The candidate will collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to design, develop, test, deploy and monitor solutions, leveraging Microsoft Copilot capabilities and Azure AI Foundry services where applicable, while following engineering best practices (CI/CD, code reviews, documentation and observability).
Duties And Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain scalable data pipelines and ELT/ETL processes on Azure Databricks
- Implement data quality, validation and reconciliation checks; build monitoring and alerting for pipelines/jobs
- Build reusable Python components, utilities and APIs to enable AI/analytics use cases
- Collaborate with CoE and business teams to translate requirements into technical design and implementation
- Use Copilot tools to improve developer productivity while adhering to secure coding and data handling standards
- Support AI solution delivery with Azure AI Foundry where applicable (model evaluation, prompt/flow assets, deployment support)
- Follow engineering best practices: version control, code reviews, CI/CD, documentation and knowledge sharing
Required Qualifications And Experience
- 3–5 years of hands-on development experience in data engineering / analytics engineering / AI engineering roles
- Strong Python development skills (data processing, APIs, packaging, testing)
- Azure Databricks experience: notebooks, jobs/workflows, clusters, Delta Lake, performance tuning
- Azure Data Lake / Lakehouse concepts (ADLS Gen2, medallion architecture, governance and security basics)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Copilot (e.g., M365 Copilot / GitHub Copilot) for productivity and engineering workflows
- Exposure to Azure AI Foundry (building, evaluating and operationalizing AI solutions) is preferred
- Good understanding of SQL and data modeling; experience building reliable pipelines and data quality checks
- Strong problem-solving, debugging and stakeholder communication skills
