Position: Deputy Purchase Manager / Purchase Manager
Experience: 5+ years in domestic & international procurement of Lithium-ion battery components (Cells, Sheet Metal Parts, BMS, R&D-related items)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Deputy Purchase Manager to manage procurement activities for lithium-ion battery production, with a focus on sourcing materials both domestically and internationally. The role demands strategic sourcing, cost negotiation, vendor development, and timely coordination with production and R&D teams for optimal procurement performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and manage purchase of materials as per production & R&D needs
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors (India & overseas)
- Negotiate prices and ensure timely, cost-effective procurement
- Track orders, manage records, and ensure timely delivery
- Conduct market research and prepare cost analysis
- Coordinate with warehouse/logistics for quality checks
- Maintain procurement documentation and audit readiness
- Report regularly to management and manage purchase budgets
Requirements
- Experience in Lithium-ion battery industry is a must
- Strong knowledge of supply chain & procurement processes
- Proficient in Excel and purchasing tools
- Good negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA/PGDM preferred
