Key Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end procurement of building and construction materials such as cement, steel, tiles, sanitary fittings, HVAC items, electricals, paint, doors, windows, and other civil/interior items for hospital projects.
- Float RFQs, analyze quotations, negotiate prices, and finalize contracts with vendors, ensuring competitive pricing and quality standards.
- Coordinate with project engineers, architects, consultants, and contractors to understand material requirements and specifications.
- Prepare and maintain procurement schedules aligned with project timelines to avoid delays.
- Ensure compliance with hospital standards, quality norms, and procurement policies.
- Maintain a robust database of approved vendors and periodically evaluate their performance based on delivery, quality, and service.
- Prepare comparative statements (Techno-Commercial) and get internal approvals from the Projects/Finance/Management team.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the site team for just-in-time delivery, avoiding overstocking or material shortages.
- Oversee documentation such as purchase orders, delivery notes, invoices, and goods receipt acknowledgments.
- Track and report purchase costs, vendor lead times, and savings achieved through negotiations.
- Coordinate with finance for vendor payments, taxation (GST, TDS), and reconciliation of accounts.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sustainability norms in material sourcing.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Supply Chain Management; PG in Materials Management / MBA preferred.
- 58 years of experience in procurement of construction/building materials, preferably in hospital or healthcare infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction material specifications, BOQ analysis, and vendor sourcing.
- Experience in large-scale healthcare or commercial construction projects is a plus.
- Proficiency in procurement ERP systems (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365, etc.) and MS Office (especially Excel).
