Critical Skills & Personal Attributes
- Experience in Purchase function of Engineering manufacturing company in direct and indirect material
- Should have purchasing knowledge of cutting tools like turning & milling inserts, boring bar, jigs, fixture etc.
- Candidate shall be familiar with machine shop process and consumables required for machine shop like coolant oil, packing material, hydraulic oil etc.
- Strong negotiation, decision making and communication skill.
- Leadership skills and have worked with team size of 2-3 engineer
- Analytical ability and innovative ideas for strategic purchase
- Root cause analysis and design system /process as preventive measures for problem solving
Main responsibility
- Receive Indent / RFQ from Planner for consumables items like cutting tools, oils, packaging material, inspection instruments, Gauges, jigs, fixtures, safety items and other services etc.
- Consolidate all requirement and explore purchase from stockiest or OEM for better pricing
- Make price competitiveness analysis
- Price comparison and negotiations with supplier.
- Strategic supplier identification, selection, agreement.
- Frame purchasing policies based on annual budget
- Import process knowledge from sourcing special items.
- Exploring new cost competitive suppliers in market
- Supplier assessment from manufacturing capability, process controls, quality and price competitiveness.
- Cost saving project identification and working on same for cost saving
- Closely working with Plant Planner and BD team for new project
- MIS preparation of monthly purchase, supplier quality performance, NPD project tracking
- Inventory management, Nonmoving inventory reduction.
Knowledge
- Cutting tools knowledge
- Market knowledge of supplier base
- Software- Excel, MS Office.
- SAP MM module working experience.
- Familiar with ISO, IMS standards.
