Mission
- Key missions of the position:
- Facility creation for new projects and process improvements in existing projects in SMO brake panel line and AGTU assembly line
- Responsible for Production Capacity Enhancement to meet the customer demand
- Establishment and prove out the process for New Products
- Collaborate with Production team on day-to-day basis to assess & improve the existing processes
- Lead design, development, and validation of assembly processes for production, ensuring manufacturability and quality
- Establishment of process for new products and process documents like process data sheet (PDS), operation data sheet (ODS), Assembly instructions sheet (AIS), PFMEA etc.,
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize jigs, fixtures, tooling, and assembly aids specific to components to ensure precision, repeatability, throughput, safety, and ergonomics
- Develop continuous improvement activities in quality, cycle times, process improvement, machine availability through lean techniques and value engineering to enhance the capability of existing processes and remove waste
- Establishment of process for new products and make corresponding documents like Process flow diagram, Assembly instructions sheet (AIS), PFD, Control plan, PFMEA, Packing Instruction etc.,
- Implementation of TOT (Transfer of Technology) projects from our SISCO and gets approval from customers.
- Planning for developing new product using Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Failure Mode & Effects Analysis to ensure product design and performance as per customer requirements
- To respond to the QRQC issues in SFU.
- Budgetary Control for Capital Investment for project and existing products.
- Preparing Return on Investment (ROI) for each capital investment to make justification to Top Management.
- Preparation of Make/Buy with sourcing team for new projects and existing products.
- Analyse process downtime, identify trends and develop solutions.
- Drive & Implement Low-cost automation & Poka-yoke.
- Capacity planning and capability analysis and inputs to Strap and SIOP
- Layout planning and preparation.
- Capex management procurement installation and commissioning of new assets.
- Knowledge on MOST, Time study and method study.
- Automation and exposure with industry 4.0
- Assembly line setup - Conveyors, Tools, Machines, Material handling facilities,
Training, Stage allocation, Layout Preparation and Approval, Tooling
- Identify and implement the productivity improvements through automation, digitization, layout improvements and outsourcing
- first article inspections, measurement systems analysis (MSA), capability studies (Cp, Cpk), process capability
- Conduct time studies, line balancing, throughput optimization, root cause analysis and corrective action implementation to improve yield, reduce cycle time, and minimize scrap.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma) to identify and drive cost-saving opportunities and productivity gains in the assembly line.
- Troubleshoot production issues, both tooling/jig issues and assembly process problems to maintain stable, high-quality output
