Job Description

Role Purpose

The role is responsible for end‑to‑end IT procurement and vendor management for ManipalCigna Health Insurance Co. Ltd., ensuring cost optimization, regulatory compliance, risk management, and timely sourcing of IT products and services.

This role plays a critical enabler for digital transformation initiatives including Oracle Fusion ERP, core insurance applications, infrastructure, and managed services.

Key Responsibilities

1. IT Sourcing & Procurement

  • Manage end‑to‑end procurement lifecycle for IT categories including:
  • Software licenses (Oracle, ERP, BPM, Core Insurance systems, security tools)
  • Hardware & infrastructure
  • Cloud services, AMS, and managed services
  • Lead RFP / RFQ / commercial negotiations, benchmarking, and cost rationalization.
  • Ensure optimal commercial structures, renewals, extensions, and license true‑ups.

2. Vendor & Contract Management

  • Manage strategic IT vendors, system integrators, OEMs, and partners.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate POs, MSAs, SOWs, SLAs, and Amendments.
  • Track contract renewals, expiries, compliance obligations, and performance metrics.
  • Handle vendor escalations related to commercials, support, and delivery issues.

3. Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure adherence to:
  • IRDAI outsourcing regulations
  • MSME Act (vendor classification and timely payments)
  • Internal procurement policies and delegation of authority (DOA)
  • Coordinate outsourcing approvals, vendor risk assessments, and third‑party audits.
  • Maintain audit‑ready documentation for internal/external audits.

4. Stakeholder & Cross‑Functional Coordination

  • Work closely with IT, Finance, Legal, Risk, Compliance, and Business teams.
  • Support CXO‑level initiatives, steering committees, and management reviews.
  • Act as a commercial advisor to IT & business stakeholders.

5. Cost Optimization & Reporting

  • Drive cost savings, cost avoidance, and spend optimization initiatives.
  • Prepare management dashboards, MIS,renewal trackers.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and vendor spend analysis.

6. Digital Transformation Support

  • Support large transformation programs like:
  • Oracle EBS to Oracle Fusion ERP migration
  • Core system upgrades
  • Cloud & automation initiatives
  • Ensure commercial continuity during system transitions.

Key Skills & Competencies

Technical / Functional

  • Strong knowledge of IT procurement, software licensing, and commercial models
  • Experience with ERP, Oracle ecosystem, managed services, and IT sourcing
  • Contract drafting and negotiation expertise

Behavioral

  • Stakeholder management at senior leadership level
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills
  • Highly process‑driven, compliance‑oriented, and detail‑focused
  • Ability to handle critical escalations and time‑sensitive renewals

Qualifications & Experience

Education:

  • MBA / PGDM (Supply Chain / Procurement / Operations) preferred
  • Engineering / Graduate degree mandatory

Experience:

  • 8–14 years of experience in Procurement
  • 5+ years specifically in IT Procurement
  • Prior exposure to Insurance, BFSI, or regulated environments preferred

  • Cost savings & optimization achieved
  • Timely renewals and zero business disruption
  • Audit observations (nil / minimal)
  • Vendor performance & SLA adherence
  • Stakeholder satisfaction
