About the position:

The Human Resources Office supports the development and implementation of all the Staff policies, procedures and programs for all Academic and Administrative staff at CEPT University. The aim of Human Resources Office is to be responsive to the changing needs of staff members and evolving institutional requirements as the University undertakes the process of renewing its commitment to excellence in education and research. The Human Resources Office takes special care to promote diversity and provide equal opportunity in the process of recruitment and appointment of staff members.

CEPT University invites applications for the position of Deputy Manager / Assistant Manager, Human Resources Office. The person will be responsible for managing a wide range of HR functions, including recruitment, employee engagement, performance management and HR operations. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage day-to-day HR activities efficiently.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end recruitment cycle, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, and offer issuance.
  • Facilitate onboarding and induction programs to enable smooth integration of new employees.
  • Coordinate with IT and Administration teams to ensure timely completion of employee onboarding/offboarding logistics (ID cards, system access, workstation setup, etc.).
  • Prepare, maintain, and manage HR documentation such as appointment letters, confirmation letters, contracts, and exit formalities.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee queries, concerns, and grievances, ensuring timely resolution and escalation where required.
  • Support payroll inputs by ensuring accuracy of attendance, leave records, and employee master data.
  • Identify training needs, design and coordinate programs, and evaluate their effectiveness to enhance employee skills and organizational performance.
  • Maintain and update employee records in HRIS to ensure data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Assist in planning and implementing HR initiatives and employee engagement activities to foster a positive workplace culture.
  • Ensure compliance, transparency, and adherence to university policies in all HR processes.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • MBA / PGDM / Master's in Human Resources or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of post-qualification experience is required for the position of Deputy Manager and minimum 6 years of post-qualification experience is required for the position of Assistant Manager.
  • Experience in HR Operations, with at least 3 to 5 years in the education/ university/ academic sector is preferred.

Expertise required:

  • Strong knowledge of various HR processes in a university.
  • Proficiency in sourcing tools job portals, LinkedIn Recruiter, and professional networks.
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills to track various metrics and present insights.
  • The candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office and basic working knowledge of AI tools.
  • Demonstrate a high degree of integrity, confidentiality, teamwork and leadership.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and work under minimal supervision
  • Strong interpersonal relationships/teamwork skills
