Job Description

Scope Of The Job Role

This position is responsible for centrally driving Knowledge Management for the Catalyst program of Lend A Hand India (Catalyst program is spread in 20+ States of India where our State PMU teams provide strategic support to State Govts on Skill Education). This position is responsible for building strategic knowledge products for School based Skill Education Governance at State, District & School level. Knowledge product coverage will be end to end from planning, implementation to monitoring (large scale Skill lab setup, Skill teachers onboarding, large scale monitoring etc) & product/toolkit developed will cater to decision making of Senior bureaucrat, District Officials to School HMs/Teachers managing Skill Education for Govt schools.

Reports to Senior Manager (Central Project Management Unit)

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge Management for Catalyst Program
  • Centrally drive Knowledge Management for the Catalyst program, ensuring strategic oversight of school-based skill education delivery across 20+ states, identifying system change areas, and updating knowledge products as needed.
  • Plan, create, and update knowledge products leveraging visual storytellingcovering large-scale skill lab setup, skill teacher onboarding, NEP-NCF mandates, and monitoring frameworks.
  • Focus knowledge products on improving decision-making for senior bureaucrats, district officials, and school heads through concept notes, SOPs, best practice repositories, state guidelines, and presentations.
  • Train and guide state/district officials on applied use of knowledge products, timely dissemination, and comprehension across the 20+ State PMU teams.
  • Collaborate robustly with State PMU teams to consolidate and scale up strategic knowledge, maintaining up-to-date repositories for both internal and external use.
  • Stay current with NEP, NCF, NCrF, and other national education policies to inform design and delivery of relevant knowledge products.
  • Strategically lead/guiding State PMU teams in planning, execution, and monitoring of skill education projects in collaboration with government partners.
  • Organize, lead, or facilitate meetings and events involving senior stakeholders, with flexibility to travel as required across states.
  • MEL Support & Knowledge Product Development
  • Develop impactful narratives using MEL data for donor reports, annual reports, and publications to showcase program outcomes.
  • Author high-quality knowledge products (policy briefs, case studies, best practices, research publications) supporting thought leadership for LAHI.
  • Support fundraising communications, crafting donor-ready materials, concept notes, and compelling impact stories.
  • Lead LAHI's publication strategy in the vocational education sector, ensuring visibility and credibility.
  • Translate complex MEL data into clear infographics, multimedia content, state-level dashboards, and reports for diverse stakeholders.
  • Assist with evaluation report writing and wide dissemination of research findings across platforms.
  • External Communications Leadership
  • Own and manage LAHI's external communication strategy covering website, LinkedIn, Twitter, and other digital platforms.
  • Maintain a proactive external content calendar, ensuring consistent and high-quality messaging across all channels.
  • Manage media relations, acting as the spokesperson for skill education topics, and producing advocacy content (podcasts, videos, digital campaigns).
  • Position LAHI as a national reference point through strategic communications and participation in conferences, panels, policy advocacy, and building networks with education journalists and policy influencers.
  • Strategic Communication Support
  • Support senior leadership with presentations for donors, government officials, and the Board, and manage sensitive communications during crises.
  • Facilitate organizational communications between program teams and external stakeholders and design protocols for major initiatives and launches.
  • Lead capacity building for internal teamsconducting workshops, creating communication toolkits, and training staff on narrative development and storytelling techniques.
  • Contribute to strengthening internal communications strategy and organizational culture initiatives.

Requirements

Experience & Skills we are looking for:

  • Overall experience of 5-10+ years (Knowledge Management, Visual Storytelling, Learning & development, Content development) Development Sector (Education, Livelihood etc) for large scale Govt Projects
  • Prior experience of working in Govt department PMU setup, working with Senior bureaucrat (IAS officials) at State level, experience of managing Education project at State level is preferred
  • Experience of developing Infographics, Concept Notes, SOPs, Knowledge Toolkits, State level presentations for Senior Bureaucrats, District Officials, School HMs, Teachers is preferred
  • Experience of managing Govt projects at State level (note-sheets, tender work-technical support, desk research work, orientation to senior officials about project details).
  • Strong, coherent, structured & thoughtful writing skills focusing on offering coherent solutions for large scale govt projects
  • Ability to write clearly and translate complexity into simplicity
  • Visual storytelling skills using tools like Infographics, PowerPoint, Canva or other design platforms
  • Experience of leading team as Knowledge Management/ L&D lead
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills in English & Hindi
  • Experience of working in Skill Education or development domain such as Education, Livelihood
  • Strong experience & expertise in working with Senior State level bureaucrats (Policy/ guideline draft preparation, note sheets, State level presentation etc)
  • Strong Expertise in Technical project writing work & data analytics-Report writing (Word, PPT) & large datasets analysis using excel
  • Proficient in drafting official letters, note sheets, proposals, concept notes, SOPs, making presentations etc. (preferred)
  • Interest & Experience in working with people -Stakeholder management -External & Internal (required)
  • Proficient in communicating ideas, strategy to State & National level Senior Govt. officers, Senior external partners & middle management internal teams
  • Experience of working with multiple teams in Senior/Middle management roles
  • Strong knowledge management, people management, program management skills
  • Advance skill in Microsoft & Google tools for documentation & analytics works including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Google Forms etc.
  • Graduation/PG in any stream (preferable Public Policy/Social Sciences field)
