The Department Manager Apparel is a junior-level, full-time position based in Chennai and Vellore. This role focuses on overseeing all apparel department operations, ensuring a seamless shopping experience, maintaining visual merchandising standards, and achieving sales targets in line with Reliance Retail's high standards.
Qualifications And Skills
- Proficiency in visual merchandising techniques with a keen attention to store aesthetics and layout (Mandatory skill).
- Strong ability to manage inventory effectively, maintaining optimal stock levels to maximize sales and minimize shrinkage.
- Excellent customer service skills, adept at addressing shopper needs and enhancing overall satisfaction within the apparel section.
- Comprehensive knowledge of retail operations, including daily sales processes, promotional activities, and store standards.
- Efficient at stock replenishment, proactively monitoring stock-outs, and ensuring timely product availability for customers.
- Experience in planogram execution to assure product displays meet brand and company guidelines while maximizing space utilization.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in managing and motivating a team towards common goals, enhancing staff performance and morale.
- Knowledge of loss prevention procedures to reduce theft and damages while protecting company assets and promoting a secure environment.

- Lead, train, and motivate the department staff to meet customer service expectations and achieve sales targets efficiently.
- Implement planograms and brand guidelines within the apparel area to optimize product visibility and sales performance.
- Handle day-to-day retail operations, including overseeing billing, cash handling, and store audit processes in alignment with policies.
- Deliver a superior shopping experience by promptly resolving customer queries and complaints within the apparel section.
- Monitor compliance with safety, hygiene, and loss prevention standards to safeguard both assets and customers.
- Collaborate with store management to identify sales opportunities, analyze business performance, and execute promotional strategies.
