Overview

Lead the department, developing a 5-year strategic vision aligned with AU-QUASAR's mission and research priorities. Focus areas include:

1. Department of Quantum Science: Quantum Information Theory, Quantum Optics, Quantum Materials, and Quantum Foundations
2. Department ofQuantum Computing and Technologies: Quantum Algorithms, Quantum Machine Learning, Quantum Cryptography, and Quantum Error Correction
3. Department ofArtificial Intelligence & Machine Learning: Deep Learning, Computer Vision, NLP, Reinforcement Learning, Generative AI, and Trustworthy AI
4. Department of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence: Autonomous Systems, Learning-based Manipulation, Aerial Robotics, Human-Robot Interaction, and AI-driven Medical Robotics
5. Department of Cyber Physical Systems: IoT Systems, Embedded AI, Digital Twins, Industrial Automation, Smart Infrastructure, and Edge Computing.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Planning - Develop and execute a 5-year vision for research and education across the specific department.
• Personnel Management - Recruit faculty, conduct evaluations, mentor junior faculty
• Budget Planning - Manage departmental budget, allocate resources, ensure financial sustainability
• Research Leadership - Establish research agenda, secure grants, build world-class infrastructure
• Academic Program Oversight - Oversee B.Tech., M.Sc., M.Tech., and Ph.D. programs and ensure academic quality
• External Relations - Build collaborations with research institutions and international groups

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in a relevant field (Physics, Computer Science, Robotics, or Electrical/Computer Engineering) from top-tier institutions
• Professor-level appointment or equivalent senior research position
• An outstanding research record with consistent publications in top-tier journals and conferences relevant to the specific department
• A high H-index with significant citations, demonstrating a leadership position and influence within the global scientific community.

Experience Required

Minimum 12-15 years of post-PhD experience with substantial academic or research leadership
