Job Summary
We are seeking a Denodo Developer to design, build, and optimize data virtualization solutions that deliver fast, seamless, and secure access to enterprise data. This role will create high performance views and semantic layers while collaborating with cross functional teams to support scalable analytics and business insights
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance, and maintain Denodo base views, derived views, and integration layers.
- Design and implement semantic layers and business-friendly virtual datasets.
- Optimize Denodo solutions for performance, including caching, query acceleration, and data retrieval strategies.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries across multiple heterogeneous data sources.
- Implement data virtualization best practices to ensure data quality, consistency, and reusability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues related to data sources, query execution, caching, and view design.
- Work closely with data engineers, BI teams, and business stakeholders to understand and translate data requirements.
- Participate in release management, versioning, promotions, and CI/CD integrations for Denodo projects.
- Support and implement basic governance and security configurations, including Roles and user management, Data masking, Custom policies
- Utilize and support Denodo Scheduler for job execution and dependency handling.
- Work with Denodo Data Catalog for metadata management and data discovery.
- Monitor platform health and performance using Denodo monitoring and administration tools.
Required Qualifications
- 58 years of professional experience working specifically as a Denodo Developer (not architect or support).
- Strong expertise in Denodo VDP, view development, semantic layer modeling, and data abstraction.
- Excellent SQL skills, including handling complex joins, transformations, and performance tuning.
- Solid understanding of: Query optimization techniques, Caching strategies, Data federation concepts, Virtualization performance tuning
- Hands-on experience integrating Denodo with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL) and cloud platforms.
- Basic understanding of security and governance features in Denodo, including roles, users, data masking, and policies.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Familiarity with Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or similar CI/CD tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Denodo certifications (e.g., Denodo Developer Associate / Professional) are a strong plus.
- Exposure to Denodo Scheduler, Data Catalog, and monitoring/administration features.
- Experience with enterprise data governance and compliance requirements.
- Prior experience supporting BI tools (e.g., Looker, Power BI, Tableau) through Denodo.
