Woxsen University seeks a distinguished and visionary academic leader to serve as Dean, School of Technology. The Dean will provide strategic, academic, and operational leadership to build the School into a globally respected center of excellence in technology education, research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and industry engagement.
The ideal candidate will be a transformational leader with a strong record of academic distinction, research excellence, institutional building, curriculum innovation, and the ability to position the School of Technology at an international benchmark comparable to leading global universities.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership
- Define and execute the academic vision, strategy, and growth roadmap for the School of Technology.
- Lead the design, review, and continuous improvement of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs.
- Ensure curriculum relevance, rigor, interdisciplinarity, and alignment with emerging global technology trends.
- Foster pedagogical innovation, experiential learning, and outcome-based education of the highest standard.
Research and Innovation
- Build a strong research culture with measurable impact in high-quality journals, patents, funded projects, and translational outcomes.
- Strengthen the School's research clusters in areas such as AI, data science, cybersecurity, robotics, cloud, software systems, digital transformation, and future technologies.
- Promote interdisciplinary collaboration across schools, centers, and external research partners.
- Encourage faculty and student participation in conferences, publications, competitions, and innovation challenges.
Faculty Excellence and Development
- Attract, retain, and develop outstanding faculty with strong academic, research, and industry credentials.
- Lead faculty recruitment, mentoring, workload planning, performance review, and professional development.
- Build a culture of academic accountability, excellence, collaboration, and intellectual ambition.
Industry and Global Engagement
- Develop strong partnerships with industry, research institutions, startups, and global universities.
- Create pathways for internships, live projects, consultancy, executive education, joint research, and technology transfer.
- Strengthen the School's national and international visibility through strategic collaborations and thought leadership.
Student Success and Experience
- Ensure exceptional student learning, mentorship, career readiness, and overall academic experience.
- Support student-led innovation, hackathons, capstone projects, entrepreneurship, and global exposure.
- Maintain high standards of student engagement, discipline, and academic integrity.
Institutional Leadership
- Work closely with University leadership to contribute to institutional strategy, accreditation, rankings, and growth.
- Manage academic planning, budgeting, resource allocation, and quality assurance for the School.
- Represent the School of Technology with distinction in internal and external forums.
Qualifications and Experience
Required
- PhD in a relevant technology or computing discipline from a reputed institution.
- A strong record of academic leadership at the level of Professor / Associate Professor with administrative experience in a high-performing university.
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching, research, publications, and academic administration.
- Proven ability to lead teams, build programs, and drive institutional transformation.
Preferred
- Experience in setting up or scaling schools, departments, centers, or interdisciplinary academic initiatives.
- International academic exposure and collaboration experience.
- Strong record in funded research, patents, industry partnerships, and global academic networking.
- Familiarity with accreditation systems, ranking frameworks, and quality assurance standards.
