Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary individual who can lead the Institute of Engineering for JK Lakshmipat University, Jaipur. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Computer Science or a related discipline, with proven leadership skills, academic excellence, and a passion for driving innovation and excellence in engineering education and research.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and direction to the Institute of Engineering, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration among faculty, staff and students.
- Oversee all aspects of academic programs, curriculum development and student affairs within the Institute, ensuring alignment with industry trends, technological advancements, and accreditation standards.
- Lead efforts to enhance research initiatives, securing external funding, fostering interdisciplinary collaborations and promoting a vibrant research culture among faculty and students.
- Drive initiatives to recruit, retain and develop world-class faculty members, supporting their professional growth, research endeavours, and commitment to teaching excellence.
- Collaborate with industry partners, government agencies and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for research collaboration, technology transfer and experiential learning opportunities for students.
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance student recruitment, enrollment and retention, ensuring a diverse and inclusive learning environment that supports student success and career readiness.
- Represent the Institute of Engineering within the university community, as well as externally through participation in conferences, seminars and industry events.
Other Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field from a reputed institution
- Substantial academic and research experience, with a distinguished record of scholarly publications, research grants and contributions to the field.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in academic administration, program development, and strategic planning within a higher education setting.
- Strong understanding of current trends and emerging technologies in engineering, with a focus on areas such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, software engineering or data science.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with faculty, students, staff, alumni, industry partners, and other stakeholders.
- Commitment to fostering diversity, equity and inclusion within the Institute and promoting a supportive and inclusive learning environment for all members of the community.
- Visionary mindset with the ability to inspire others, drive innovation and lead change in a dynamic and evolving academic landscape.
Preferred Attributes:
- Previous experience in a leadership role within an academic institution or research organisation.
- Experience with accreditation processes and standards for engineering-related programs.
- Knowledge of industry partnerships, technology transfer, and entrepreneurship initiatives in the engineering domain.
- Professional certifications or memberships in relevant professional organisations.
