Job Description

This role is for a DC Operations Executive to manage the day-to-day operations at a Fruits and Vegetables (FnV) Distribution Center (DC) in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, hands-on professional with a strong understanding of inventory handling, cold chain sensitivity, and labour management within a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • DC Operations & Stock Handling: Oversee the receiving, sorting, grading, and stacking of FnV products. Ensure strict adherence to First-In-First-Out (FIFO) and quality-first inventory rotation. Maintain accurate stock records and actively work to minimize wastage and spoilage. Conduct daily reconciliation of physical versus system inventory.
  • Order Fulfilment & Dispatch: Coordinate closely with sales and logistics teams for timely indent planning and dispatches. Prepare dispatches accurately as per customer orders (Modern Trade, Q-Commerce, Wholesalers) and ensure Turn Around Time (TAT) adherence for high-demand products.
  • Labour & Shift Management: Effectively manage loading/unloading, picking/packing teams. Implement optimal manpower planning across shifts and enforce strict hygiene, safety, and work discipline protocols.
  • Agility in FnV Handling: Daily monitor shelf-life-sensitive items and take quick liquidation actions, such as B-grade sales. Proactively flag slow-moving or overstock items to the sales team.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate GRNs (Goods Receipt Notes), delivery challans, and damage reports. Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly stock and operations reports. Coordinate with the finance team for all necessary documentation for billing and invoicing.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of FnV supply chain dynamics.
  • Knowledge of FIFO, FEFO (First-Expired, First-Out), and basic inventory principles.
  • Proficiency in Excel; basic knowledge of ERP or WMS software is preferred.
  • Excellent team handling and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in morning/early shifts, as FnV operations commence early.
  • Quick decision-making ability and capacity to operate effectively under pressure.
  • Basic knowledge of temperature zones (ambient vs. cold storage handling).
