DBT Tech Lead

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced DBT Tech Lead with a strong background in Data Engineering and recent hands-on experience in DBT (minimum 2 years). The ideal candidate will have 8+ years of expertise in building scalable data pipelines, ETL workflows, and delivering high-quality data transformations. You will be responsible for driving end-to-end data engineering solutions, ensuring best practices, and leading technical implementation within the modern data stack.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and optimization of ETL pipelines and data workflows.
  
• Develop and manage DBT models, transformations, testing, and documentation.
  
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand data requirements and architect efficient solutions.
  
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and performance across large-scale data systems.
  
• Perform code reviews, enforce best practices, and guide junior engineers.
  
• Work closely with DevOps and cloud teams to ensure smooth deployment and monitoring.
  
• Troubleshoot complex data issues and ensure timely resolution.
  
• Contribute to scalability, performance tuning, and modernization of the data platform.
  

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of experience in Data Engineering.
  
• Minimum 2 years of recent hands-on experience with DBT (Data Build Tool).
  
• Strong proficiency in SQL and familiarity with modern data warehousing concepts.
  
• Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
  
• Solid understanding of ETL/ELT processes, data modeling, and data transformations.
  
• Experience working with version control tools (e.g., Git).
  
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  

Good to Have

• Experience with tools like Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks, or similar.
  
• Knowledge of orchestration tools such as Airflow, Prefect, or Dagster.
  
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for data transformations.
