A day in the life of an Infoscion
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL jobs using IBM InfoSphere DataStage Develop Parallel, Server, and Sequence jobs to support data integration requirements Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading from multiple heterogeneous data sources Optimize DataStage jobs for performance, scalability, and reliability Handle job scheduling, monitoring, failure analysis, and recovery Implement data validation, reconciliation, and error-handling mechanisms Work with large datasets and complex data transformations Collaborate with business analysts, data architects, and stakeholders to understand requirements Support production deployments, enhancements, and ongoing maintenance Document ETL designs, job logic, and operational procedures Experience with DataStage QualityStage or other IBM Information Server components Exposure to cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) Knowledge of migration from DataStage to cloud ETL tools IBM DataStage certification Experience working in Agile / Scrum environments
