Database support Engineer

• Implement database solutions for simple to complex projects with HA/DR (SQL Cluster, AlwaysON, Mirroring, Log shipping). • Troubleshoot and Support issues related to configuration, administration, performance,and maintenance of SQL Server. • Configuring Azure Services PaaS, IaaS and Migrate databases from on-premises to Azure/AWS. • Defining and implementing database standards and best practices to make environment audit compliant. • Implement database backup and recovery strategy to meet client RTO/RPO. • Participate in designing, testing, and implementing an enterprise Disaster Recovery Plan on CLoud platform. • Propose and Implement DR Drills to ensure the implemented strategies are reliable in case of actual disaster. • Analyze existing setup for cost optimization. • Undertake upgradation/migration project for obsolete SQL Server versions (Major and Minor version upgrades). • Conduct root cause and analysis for major database incidents and problems. • Work with client to understand the project requirements and provide best suitable solution within SLA. • Experience in creating and monitoring Azure/AWS SQL Server databases. • Configure and Maintained Elastic DB pools and RDS Instances. • Experience in configuring and monitoring Geo Replication • Configure failover groups to provide high availability for PAAS SQL Server. • Experience in configuring backups and restoring database from recovery vault and Storage Account. • Experience in Configuring CPU, Disk, DTU usage alerts and Monitoring for Azure SQL servers/ AWS RDS. • Automation using T-SQL and PowerShell. • Install, configure and troubleshoot SSAS, SSRS and SSIS. • Understanding of ITIL process. Requirements Cloud Experience is a must. Should be a team player. Flexibility while working in a team. Should be open to learn new technologies(Database and cloud).
