The Manager, Database Chapter leads and inspires a team of database engineers accountable for delivering secure, resilient, and high performing database services. This role is responsible for setting clear direction, enabling execution, and fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The manager ensures database platforms supporting hybrid cloud environments to meet enterprise standards for availability, stability, security, currency, and performance.
Acting as a strategic partner, the manager collaborates with Database leadership, technology leads, and cross-functional stakeholders to advance organizational and IT strategies. This role integrates technology solutions into business processes while ensuring compliance with regulatory and industry standards, balancing innovation with disciplined risk management.
Responsibilities

- Partner with senior leaders to shape technology strategy and execution, aligning workforce capabilities to enterprise priorities.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (preferred).
- Deep expertise in enterprise database technologies with the ability to guide architectural and operational decisions.
- At least 9 years of IT experience, including 5 years in people leadership roles, demonstrating progressive leadership impact.
- Proven ability to lead crossfunctional teams, influence stakeholders, and deliver outcomes aligned to business strategy.
- Experience overseeing enterprisescale database architecture, performance optimization, and infrastructure strategy.
- Strong understanding of cloud and virtualization platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, VMware) and databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, Exadata, and native cloud databases.
- Ability to lead teams using automation and scripting (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Terraform) to improve efficiency and resilience.
- Experience managing largescale initiatives, including budgeting, capacity planning, and stakeholder communication.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking, sound judgment, and risk management, with confidence operating in dynamic environments.
