Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Database Lead (PostgreSQL / SQL Server / MySQL) based in Hyderabad. The Database Lead will be responsible for managing, designing, and optimizing databases, ensuring their availability, performance, and scalability. Day-to-day responsibilities include database administration, designing database structures, creating data models, and analyzing system performance to enhance operations. The role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to align database systems with organizational objectives.

What You'll Do

• Designscalable database architectures, schemas, and data modelsfor transactional & analytical workloads.
• Develop & optimizecomplex stored procedures, UDFs, triggers, and queries.
• Performperformance tuning, indexing, partitioning, sharding, andquery plan optimization.
• Implementreplication, migration, and backup/restorestrategies across environments.
• Managedeployment scripts,versioning (Flyway/Liquibase), andCI/CD pipelines.
• Utilize advancedPostgreSQL features logical/streaming replication, JSONB, full-text search, materialized views, CTEs, and PL/pgSQL tuning.
• Collaborate with backend teams (.NET / Node.js) to optimize database access and ORM performance.
• Review database code, set best practices, and mentor developers.

Skills & Experience

• 5-10 years in database development, with5+ years in PostgreSQL (advanced concepts).
• Proven indata modeling, architecture, debugging, and performance optimization.
• Strong knowledge ofpartitioning, replication, sharding, and parallel queries.
• Hands-on withCI/CD (Git/Jenkins/Azure DevOps)andcloud databases (AWS RDS / Aurora).
• Excellent problem-solving and documentation skills.

Nice to Have

• Exposure toETL pipelines,PostgreSQL extensions (pg_partman, PostGIS), orKubernetes-based deployments.
