Database Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Performance Tuning: Utilize strong performance tuning skills, including Query-level tuning, Database (DB) tuning, and Memory-level tuning, to ensure optimal database performance.
• RDBMS Expertise: Apply expert knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) concepts, RAC (Real Application Clusters), and comprehensive Backup & Recovery strategies.
• High Availability Implementation: Implement and manage high availability features of RDBMS to ensure continuous database operation and minimize downtime.
• Database Administration (DBA): Demonstrate strong DBA skills and relevant working experience in managing and maintaining complex database environments.
• Technical Troubleshooting: Possess sharp technical troubleshooting skills to quickly diagnose and resolve complex database issues.
• Support Processes Understanding: Exhibit a good understanding of support processes, enabling effective collaboration within a support environment.
• Escalated Situation Management: Effectively manage escalated technical situations and develop clear action plans for resolution.
• Proactive Service Identification: Identify and recommend proactive services that can benefit customers by preventing potential issues and optimizing performance.
• Development & Support Liaison: Facilitate communication and issue resolution with development and support teams.

Required Skills:

• Strong Performance tuning skills (Query level tuning / DB tuning / Memory level tuning).
• Expert knowledge of RDBMS, RAC, Backup & Recovery.
• Strong DBA skills and relevant working experience.
• Experience implementing high availability features of RDBMS.
• Sharp technical troubleshooting skills.
• Good understanding of support processes.
• Ability to manage escalated technical situations & develop action plans.
• Ability to spot proactive services that benefit the customer.
• Ability to facilitate issues with Development and Support.
• Proficiency with Oracle or DB2 Database as a DBA/Consultant/Support Engineer.

Good to Have:

• Knowledge on DB Security viz. AVDF, DB Vault, Key Vault, e-Wallet, TDE.
• DBA Certification.
