Job Description
We are looking for a skilled and experienced Senior Database Engineer to join our team. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and managing enterprise-scale database systems across PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MS SQL platforms — both on-premises and in the cloud. This role demands deep expertise in database programming, performance engineering, and cloud-native data infrastructure on AWS.
Mandatory Skills
PostgreSQL, Oracle & MS SQL Server — strong hands-on expertise across all three platforms Database Design — schema design, normalization, partitioning strategies, and indexing using version control tools Database Programming — stored procedures, functions, triggers, events, materialized views, and deployment automation scripts Complex Query Writing & Tuning — ability to write, analyse, and optimize complex SQL queries for high-performance workloads Performance Tuning & DBA Operations — memory and CPU configuration, query plan analysis, database monitoring, and optimization on large-scale platforms Data Replication & Migration — large-scale data movement across heterogeneous and homogeneous sources including structured and unstructured data AWS Cloud Database Services — strong expertise in AWS Aurora PostgreSQL, AWS RDS, AWS DMS (Database Migration Service), and AWS SCT (Schema Conversion Tool) Good to Have
Unix/Linux shell scripting and Python scripting for automation and DBA tooling Experience working in DevOps environments and CI/CD-integrated database workflows Exposure to both on-premises and cloud-based database infrastructure What You Will Do
Design and maintain scalable, high-availability database architectures across PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MS SQL Develop and manage stored procedures, functions, triggers, materialized views, and scheduled events Write and optimize complex SQL queries to support business-critical applications Perform capacity planning, performance tuning, and configuration optimization for memory, CPU, and I/O Lead and execute database migrations — both homogeneous and heterogeneous — using AWS DMS and AWS SCT Set up and manage large-scale data replication pipelines from disparate structured and unstructured sources Implement and maintain database monitoring, alerting, and automated maintenance workflows Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to integrate database changes into CI/CD pipelines using version control
