Job Description

Job description:

  • Install, configure, and upgrade MySQL and MongoDB instances in on-premises or cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Manage replication, sharding, and clustering for scalability and redundancy.
  • Perform backup, restore, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Monitor database performance, capacity, and security using tools like Percona, Prometheus, Grafana, or CloudWatch.
  • Tune SQL queries, indexes, and MongoDB aggregation pipelines for optimal performance.
  • Implement and automate routine maintenance tasks (e.g., vacuuming, archiving, partitioning, compaction).
  • Manage users, roles, privileges, and access policies ensuring data security and compliance.
  • Schedule and execute regular health checks and performance audits.
  • Handle incident response and root cause analysis (RCA) for database-related issues
  • Support developers with schema design, indexing strategy, and query optimization.
  • Implement CDC (Change Data Capture) pipelines or data replication to analytics systems.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts (using Python, Bash, or Ansible).
  • Participate in database design reviews and architectural discussions.Role & responsibilities
